Job summary

Benchmark Electronics Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I (2nd Shift Support) in Rochester, MN. This role provides the technical liaison across Design, Procurement, Assembly and Quality to drive efficient, well‑organized manufacturing from design to production.

Your work will support 24/7 global operations, involve reviewing drawings, evaluating build options, and driving continuous improvement through Lean activities and tool / fixture planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by management.
• 0-2 years manufacturing engineering experience in a precision machine shop environment.
• Supports a 24/7 global business operation as required.

Responsibilities

• Attends design reviews and provides product evaluations to insure manufacturability.
• Reviews engineering drawings prior to Production Release for compatibility with modern techniques.
• Assists in make/buy evaluations and determines in-house vs outside vendor capabilities.
• Coordinates with Methods and Tooling groups for tool and fixture requirements.
• Monitors daily production activities and suggests material/labor reductions for efficiency.
• Participates in Lean projects and activities including 5S, TPM, and VSM.
