Job summary

Hydro Extrusions USA, LLC is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Automation Engineer in Sidney, OH, to lead automation and equipment integration across robotic cells and PLC-controlled equipment. You will commission new machinery, troubleshoot controls systems, and drive automation projects within a fabrication environment.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on automation, robotics, controls, or manufacturing equipment integration experience, rather than a focus on process improvement or production

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or an engineering related field (required).
  • 3-5 years of engineering or manufacturing experience (required).
  • Experience with Robotic manufacturing systems (preferred).
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs (preferred).
  • Experience integrating new fabrication cells, automation, and production equipment with existing machinery (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing integration for new equipment, robotic cells, tooling, and automation projects supporting production, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes with a focus on automation, robotic cell integration, and equipment performance.
  • Develop and implement process techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
  • Analyze manufacturing process flows for quality, cost reduction, and throughput improvements.
  • Consult with suppliers to determine specs and arrange equipment, parts, or material purchases and evaluate products to quality standards.
  • Estimate staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs for operational decisions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve issues involving robotics, PLCs, controls systems, and automated equipment.
  • Support company policies, goals, and objectives.
  • Design and approve tooling prior to a build.

Job Summary

This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering position with significant responsibility for automation and equipment integration. The successful candidate will spend considerable time supporting robotic manufacturing cells, PLC-controlled equipment, commissioning new machinery, troubleshooting controls systems, and implementing automation projects within a fabrication environment.

This role is best suited for engineers with hands-on automation, robotics, controls, or manufacturing equipment integration experience rather than engineers focused primarily on process improvement, industrial engineering, or production planning.

What you will be doing
  • Lead manufacturing integration efforts for new equipment, robotic cells, tooling, and automation projects supporting production, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Developing, evaluating, improving, and documenting manufacturing process with a focus on automation, robotic cell integration, and equipment performance.
  • Developing and implementing process techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
  • Analyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
  • Confer with suppliers in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, parts, or material purchase, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications.
  • Estimating staffing requirements, production times, and relative cost to provide data for operational decisions.
  • Working closely with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve issues involving robotics, PLCs, controls systems, automated manufacturing equipment, and production processes.
  • Support company policies and procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Design and approve tooling prior to a build.
What will make you successful?
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or an engineering related field. (required)
  • 3-5 years of engineering or manufacturing experience. (required)
  • Experience working with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs. (preferred)
