Job summary

Norsk Hydro in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain extrusion and production machinery. The role involves electrical work, mechanical troubleshooting, and strict adherence to safety lockout/tagout procedures.

You will inspect parts, adjust devices, and contribute to ongoing reliability improvements. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and industrial maintenance experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
  • Industrial manufacturing maintenance experience (preferred).
  • Ability to read a tape measure (feet and inches) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment including engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors and extrusion production machines.
  • Perform electrical changes to blown fuses and wire plugs; inspect and repair wiring; troubleshoot mechanical devices.
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures; inspect parts; adjust components and control instruments.
  • Lubricate, clean and replace defective parts; participate in continuous improvement of equipment and processes.

What you will be doing

Summary: Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment suchas engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and aluminumextrusion production machines and equipment by performing the followingduties.
Responsibilities:

  • Performs electrical changes to blown fuses and wire plugs.
  • Repairs electrical wiring and changes hydraulic filters.
  • Does troubleshooting on mechanical devices such as presses and draw benches.
  • Performs all lockout / tag out procedures according to company policy.
  • Examines parts for imperfections.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs and replaces defective parts. Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Participates and is fully engaged in continuous reliability improvement of all equipment and processes.
