Job summary

Lehigh Heavy Forge Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement manufacturing processes, layouts, and procedures for assemblies, fabrication, and material handling. You will drive adoption of new technologies, leverage SAP and dPLM, and analyze data to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.

BS in Engineering with 1+ year experience; US citizen. Experience in fabrication (Weld, CNC, Paint, Laser, Forming) and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Interfacing with design, manufacturing, test, quality, and other stakeholders as the product moves from planning to release, completion, and distribution.
  • Using SAP, dPLM, and other applications & tools to analyze and develop sequence of operations, work-instructions, procedures, and production record systems including inspection and test.
  • Assisting in the identification, procurement, and implementation of equipment, machinery, tools/fixtures, and material handling systems.
  • Establishing methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel using lean six sigma concepts to improve workflow efficiencies.
  • Using 2D/3D modeling tools to assist facilities engineers in planning and designing manufacturing cells & layouts.
  • Using business process applications and tools to analyze data to improve productivity including reducing cost, inventory accuracy and first pass quality.
  • Investigating issues, gathering data, and initiating corrective actions and presenting solutions to teams and leaders.
  • Assisting in establishing hazard prevention measures including personnel training programs for all production phases including safety and ergonomics.

Standard Job Description

Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the Fabrication area.

  • Assisting in establishing hazard prevention measures including personnel training programs for all phases of production operations including safety and ergonomics
Basic Qualifications

BS level degree or higher in Engineering Discipline with 1+ Year of Experience

Must be a US citizen

Desired Skills

Experience in fabrication processes (Weld, CNC, Paint, Laser, Forming)

Experience in LEAN Six Sigma Methodologies

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $63400.00 - $117800.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
