Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to support the Fabrication area. You will develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, layouts, and use lean six sigma to optimize efficiency and quality. Experience with SAP, dPLM, and 2D/3D modeling tools is required.

U.S. citizenship is a must. The role involves cross-functional collaboration across design, manufacturing, and quality teams, and focuses on continuous improvement through data analytics and SOPs.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering with 3 years of experience or MS with 1+ year of experience.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Experience in fabrication processes (Weld, CNC, Paint, Laser, Forming).
• LEAN Six Sigma methodologies experience.

Responsibilities

• Interfacing with design, manufacturing, test, quality, and other stakeholders as the product moves from planning to release, completion, and distribution.
• Using SAP, dPLM, and other applications & tools to analyze and develop sequence of operations, work-instructions, procedures, and production record systems including inspection and test.
• Assisting in the identification, procurement, and implementation of equipment, machinery, tools/fixtures, and material handling systems.
• Establishing methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel utilizing lean six sigma concepts to improve workflow efficiencies.
• Using 2D/3D modeling tools to assist facilities engineers in planning and design of manufacturing cells & layouts throughout the facility.
• Using business process applications and tools to analyze data to improve productivity including reducing cost, improving inventory accuracy and improving first pass quality to achieve on-time schedules.
• Investigating issues, gathering data, and initiating corrective actions and presenting solutions to teams & leaders.
• Assisting in establishing hazard prevention measures including personnel training programs for all phases of production operations including safety and ergonomics.

Standard Job Description

Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $76700.00 - $142500.00
