Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Simi Valley, CA, on-site and permanent. The role focuses on building better processes, solving tough manufacturing problems, and making a measurable impact on production.

You will develop work instructions, optimize cell layouts, lead PFMEA, design fixtures, and use SolidWorks for modeling and drawings. Emphasis on GD&T, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in production environment.
• Experience developing work instructions and manufacturing cell layouts.
• Experience PFMEA and translating findings into controls.
• Hands-on with test fixtures, tooling, and validation.
• Knowledge of GD&T and reading engineering drawings.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and 3D CAD.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and maintain clear work instructions and standardized manufacturing processes that support safe, consistent, high-quality production.
• Design and optimize the layout of manufacturing cells to improve workflow, ergonomics, capacity, and material movement.
• Lead and contribute to PFMEA, identifying manufacturing risks and implementing preventive controls.
• Design, develop, and validate test fixtures, tooling, and production aids to improve assembly accuracy and throughput.
• Use SolidWorks to create and update 3D models, layouts, tooling designs, and drawings.
• Apply GD&T to interpret drawings and support manufacturability and inspection.
• Partner with design engineering, quality, maintenance, and production teams to resolve challenges and introduce new products smoothly.
• Identify and deliver continuous improvement projects that reduce waste and costs.
• Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Support equipment selection, installation, validation, and production readiness, while training operators.
