Job summary

Valmont Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead capital and expense projects, analyze manufacturing processes, and support new product development. You will apply CAD tools and coordinate with manufacturing, tooling, and vendors to improve cost, safety, and quality across the operation.

The role emphasizes problem solving, project leadership, and communication with upper management, while travel may be required up to 5–15% depending on assignments.

Qualifications

• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years relevant experience or Associate’s Degree with 7+ years relevant experience.
• Proven history of problem solving in manufacturing/processing environments.
• Experience as a project manager and/or team leader.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive and manage engineering solutions to resolve manufacturing problems (safety, capacity, quality, cost).
• Assist in short and long term capital budget planning.
• Specify tooling, equipment, and methods to improve cost, safety, quality, equipment and cycle times.
• Present funding requests to upper management with justification and data.
• Utilize CAD for equipment layouts and tooling designs.
• Work with manufacturing, tool and die, and vendors on project needs.
