Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a Machine Design Engineer to lead end-to-end design and implementation of proprietary manufacturing equipment.

You will work with engineers, drafters, and fabricators to ensure performance, quality and safety across global projects, including risk assessments and documentation. The role requires collaboration, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with limited supervision while traveling up to 10% (domestic and international

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or technical equivalent with 3–6 years of manufacturing engineering/machine design experience.
• Experience leading projects and coordinating vendors as a project manager.
• Proficient with Autodesk suite and machine controls.
• Familiarity with robotics and Lean tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design and develop proprietary manufacturing equipment for global needs.
• Create 3D models, run simulations and verify design feasibility.
• Perform risk assessments and implement safety measures.
• Develop quality control procedures and support troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineers, drafters and fabricators across teams.
• Provide documentation, training and post-implementation optimization.
• Travel up to 10% for site work and customer interaction.
