Job summary

Dauch Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op in Sanford, NC to support the production organization by leading setup time reduction, Kaizen activities, capital project oversight, and cost reduction efforts. You will develop methods, modify processes, manage budgets and contractors, and contribute to TPM/PM programs to maximize equipment uptime.

You are pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with a 3.0+ GPA and able to commit 25 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. Degree in Mechanical and/or Industrial Engineering, or related degree.
• Actively pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering full-time.
• Graduating preferably in 2027 or later.
• Interest in working in a manufacturing plant environment.
• Able to work a minimum of 25 hours a week.
• Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Must AutoCAD/SolidWorks knowledge.
• Proficient in MS Outlook and Excel. Previous internship or Co-Op experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop methods, tooling and techniques to continuously reduce setup time and operations of manufacturing equipment.
• Modify manufacturing processes for safety, quality, cost reduction, or design changes.
• Assist in budgeting and scheduling expenditures for projects.
• Manage capital projects, equipment specifications, runoffs, and contractor coordination.
• Update equipment drawings and layouts for production.
• Develop solutions for repetitive equipment/process failures.
• Review TPM/PM/Predictive Maintenance programs to maximize uptime.
• Coordinate outside contractors involved in process/equipment improvements.
• Lead Kaizen activities and document results.
• Collaborate across the organization to improve machinery and processes.
