Job summary

Perfection Gear in Asheville, NC seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, improve, and sustain CNC manufacturing processes, focusing on machining, process capability, productivity, quality, and production support.

You will work with Production, Quality, and Maintenance to solve problems, implement improvements, and support new-product introductions. The role reports to the Plant Manager and emphasizes hands-on problem solving and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience in machining/manufacturing.
• Hands-on CNC programming and process development.
• Experience with multi-axis CNC machining; GibbsCAM preferred.
• Lean manufacturing, structured problem solving, and root-cause analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Power BI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, document, and sustain CNC machining processes.
• Create and troubleshoot CNC programs, tooling, fixtures, and setups.
• Interpret drawings, routers, specs, tolerances for effective processes.
• Provide hands-on support to resolve machining and production problems.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, standard work, and instructions.
• Lead or support continuous-improvement activities to improve productivity and quality.
• Support new-product introduction and validate processes before transfer to production.
• Provide engineering support to Maintenance for equipment reliability.
• Support manufacturing-project initiatives from requirements through production handoff.
• Collaborate across functions to sustain manufacturing improvements.
