Job summary

Northern Manufacturing in Oak Harbor, OH, seeks a manufacturing-focused engineer to help determine how designs can be manufactured accurately, efficiently, and profitably. You will work between customer drawings, CAD models, and the shop floor to identify issues and implement practical solutions.

You’ll review designs, modify CAD models in SolidWorks, and collaborate with welders, machinists, and production teams to improve cycle time and quality.

Qualifications

• 3D CAD skills to develop parts, assemblies and drawings.
• Interpreting drawings and models for manufacturability under GD&T.
• Hands-on understanding of metal fabrication: laser cutting, forming, welding, machining.

Responsibilities

• Review designs for manufacturability against Northern's capabilities.
• Develop and modify CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.
• Identify manufacturing risks and propose practical DFM solutions.
• Support fixture, welding, routing and process development on the shop floor.
• Collaborate with welders, operators, and quality teams to improve production.
