Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a plant site in the southwest Atlanta, GA area. The role focuses on designing manufacturing processes, improving layout, tooling, and workflow to maximize efficiency and meet product specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to use 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office.
• Must have tooling experience.
• Project management experience to run projects end-to-end.
• Automation experience including robotics and PLCs.
• Experience as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Would consider zinc or high pressure aluminum die casting, stamping, plating or finishing experience and possibly plastic injection molding.
• Foundry experience is desired.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design production tooling using 2D/3D software (e.g., SolidWorks).
• Implement productivity improvements on current production lines.
• Perform root cause analysis with statistical methods; recommend design/processing changes.
• Design and implement production processes for new products and changes.
• Perform FMEA on new and existing products.
• Review designs for manufacturability and optimized processing.
• Lead cross-functional teams to optimize productivity methods.
• Lead DOE, lean manufacturing, and ROIA initiatives; guide design reviews.
• Create work instructions, statements of work, inventories for spare/critical parts.
• Implement automation, robotics, vision systems, controls integration, end-of-arm tooling, fixturing, gauging, machine design.
