Job description

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Overview: Our client, a leading manufacturer, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. The role offers strong visibility across production, engineering, and quality, with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on operational efficiency and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day production activities, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across production lines.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and recommend changes to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate and execute engineering change orders (ECOs) related to design updates, tooling, or process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineering, quality, and maintenance.
  • Develop standard work instructions, process documentation, and training materials.
  • Lead or support capital equipment projects, including justification, installation, and validation.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for production or quality issues.
  • Utilize data-driven tools such as SPC, FMEA, or Six Sigma to improve manufacturing outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process improvement role.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Hands-on problem-solver with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience in plastics, metal fabrication, etc.
