Job Description

Gilead Cork is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering Team.

In this key role, you will contribute to the reliability and performance of critical manufacturing and utility equipment, playing a pivotal part in supporting Engineering and Maintenance strategies, Project delivery, and equipment lifecycle management.

You will focus on equipment performance, obsolescence planning, and provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for future capital projects. Additionally, you will assist Maintenance personnel in fault diagnosis and structured root cause analysis, helping to ensure operational excellence and compliance in a GMP environment.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and maintain equipment performance to support lifecycle and asset planning.

  • Identify and mitigate risks through strategic obsolescence planning and action tracking.

  • Act as SME for future projects, supporting engineering deliverables and technical readiness.

  • Support Maintenance in fault-finding and lead root cause analysis for recurring equipment issues.

  • Drive improvements through collaboration with Operations, Reliability, and EHS functions.

  • Promote a culture of safety responsibility within the engineering and maintenance teams.

  • Ensure engineering documentation and activities meet GMP, safety, and regulatory standards.

  • Participate in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance, reliability principles, and process improvement.

  • Demonstrated experience in fault diagnosis and structured problem solving.

  • Familiarity with industry tools such as SAP, CMMS (e.g., Maximo), and equipment documentation systems.

  • Experience in Pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or Biotechnology operations/GMP environment.

  • Demonstrates excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to act on own initiative.
