Job summary

Brady makes products that improve safety and productivity worldwide. The Manufacturing Engineer will lead process development and optimization, ensure smooth production flow, and support capital projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related engineering field, Lean manufacturing experience, CAD familiarity, and strong communication skills. Availability for off-shifts may be needed at peak periods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field and Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite; knowledge of quality systems.
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities; able to support multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Influences associates to participate in process development and improvement.
  • Ensures conformance with policies and procedures.
  • Designs, deploys and validates new manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • Maintains smooth production flow and product qualification processes.
  • C conducts product and process FMEA analysis.
  • Creates, documents and implements procedures for meltblown, converting and packaging.
  • Re-engineers operations and manufacturing processes.
  • Designs, installs and debugs tooling and new capital equipment.
  • Designs, evaluates and implements automated inspection and data systems.
  • Drives continuous improvement activities.
  • Develops training and support documentation for associates.
  • Drives cost and scrap reduction through manufacturability projects.

What We Need

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for manufacturing processes and their improvement, resolution of complex manufacturing process issues, and providing leadership and guidance to technicians and/or hourly associates that may not report directly to the incumbent.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Influences key associates to promote participation and cooperation in process development/improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures conformance with and application of policies and procedures.
  • Designs, deploys and validates new manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • Responsible for smooth product production/constant production flow.
  • Responsible for product qualification processes.
  • Conducts product and process FMEA analysis.
  • Create, document and implement procedures for meltblown, converting and packaging processes.
  • Re-engineers operations and manufacturing processes.
  • Designs, installs and debugs tooling and new capital equipment.
  • Designs, evaluates and implements automated systems for inspection, manufacturing and data acquisition.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement activities.
  • Develops training systems and support documentation for associates.
  • Drives cost reduction and scrap reduction initiatives by identifying projects for manufacturability improvements..
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need To Be Successful
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite
  • Knowledge of quality management systems
  • Must be a strong team player
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • 3+ years' experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
  • Familiarity with CAD software, AutoCAD preferred
  • Ability to concurrently manage long-term capital projects while providing real-time technical support for process optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of statistical tools; GR&Rs, SPC, DOE's, Ppk's
  • Availability on off-shifts and/or weekends during peak project points and/or process troubleshooting events
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Training Certification preferred
  • Nonwovens industry experience preferred
