Job summary

Brady Corporation, headquartered in Milwaukee, WI, seeks a Process Engineer to provide hands‑on process engineering for new product development and process improvement projects. You will work on compounding, web coating and handling, and slitting operations within a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Physical Sciences or Engineering, 2–4 years in industrial process development, and DFSS/DOE exposure.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years relevant industrial product or process development experience.
  • Exposure to DFSS tools such as design of experiments and statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform process development and scale up activities for new product developments.
  • Conduct process improvement initiatives with floor personnel and management.
  • Investigate product quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support research projects using data-driven decision making.
  • Work in cross-functional teams to enable NPD project success.
  • Execute Stage Gate process activities.
  • Run experiments to evaluate and optimize performance or process attributes.
  • Develop understanding of process capability and structure–property relationships.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of technical activities.

Job description

The Process Engineer is a member of the Materials R&D group with responsibility for providing hands‑on process engineering expertise to new product development programs and product improvement initiatives. Primary process areas of responsibility include compounding, web coating and handling, and slitting operations.

Qualifications
  • Perform process development and scale up activities in support of new product developments
  • Conduct process improvement initiatives and custom product developments while interfacing with floor production personnel and operations management in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Investigate product quality issues; institutionalize corrective actions
  • Support research projects that deliver business results through data driven decision making
  • Work within cross functional teams to enable new product development project success
  • Execute various project activities in support of a defined Stage Gate process
  • Execute experiments to evaluate and optimize performance or process attributes
  • Develop an understanding of process capability, design selection criteria, and/or structure-property relationships for developed products
  • Maintain proper documentation of technical and experimental activities
