Job summary

Storm Search is seeking an Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, fixtures, and tooling. The role collaborates with technical and production teams to implement lean manufacturing strategies, improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support new and existing processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, Kaizen, continuous improvement, or process improvement.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Experience with fixture/tooling design and machining practices.
  • Experience with Pro/ENGINEER (ProE/Creo) or equivalent 3D CAD software and AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Previous experience with process design or process modification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing manufacturing engineering specifications, processes, and special tooling.
  • Design, develop, or procure fixtures, machinery, and tooling for new and existing manufacturing operations.
  • Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives focused on workflow, equipment layout, space utilization, quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Develop and implement lean manufacturing strategies, including waste elimination and setup reduction.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to equipment, tooling, and production methods.
  • Create detailed manufacturing documentation, including tool and fixture drawings, setup instructions, and operating procedures.
  • Test manufacturing equipment and troubleshoot process or equipment issues.
  • Support process design and modification for new and existing production operations.
  • Maintain documentation and records in accordance with ISO standards.
  • Assist in preparing manufacturing and tooling cost estimates for new products.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Marketing, and other departments throughout product and process development.

Job description

We are seeking an Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, fixtures, and tooling. This position will work closely with technical and production teams to implement lean manufacturing strategies, improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support new and existing manufacturing processes. Please note: Only applicants currently residing in North Carolina will be considered for this position.
