Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support product development, process improvement, and daily production activities at our Irvine, CA facility.

Responsibilities include analyzing production data, developing tools to improve throughput, and assisting MRB investigations; requires pursuit of a mechanical engineering degree and strong CAD/Excel skills, with a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Currently an undergrad pursuing a B.S. in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and manufacturing instructions, blueprints.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• CAD experience, SolidWorks preferred.
• Analyze workforce utilization and optimize workspace for efficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication; report writing.
• U.S. Person or ability to obtain export authorization.
• Available to work at least 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production data to identify trends and develop solutions.
• Provide process control instructions and data collection.
• Investigate root causes and participate in MRB activities.
• Update production routing with cost changes.
• Support continuous improvement projects to boost throughput and reduce defects.
