Job summary

Itron, Inc. is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager for its West Union, SC manufacturing site.

The role leads EHS across ~1,500 employees, driving gap closure, program improvement, and regulatory compliance while maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications. The successful candidate will move between plant floor, maintenance, and engineering teams, implementing robust EHS programs, conducting risk assessments, and coaching leaders on safety ownership to achieve

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of experience leading EHS programs for a complex manufacturing operation.
• Experience implementing or rebuilding Lockout/Tagout programs in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of machine guarding and OSHA requirements.
• Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 is preferred.
• Ability to lead both strategically and hands-on on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the site’s EHS management system and identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Lead Lockout/Tagout program development, inspections, and coordination with Maintenance and Engineering.
• Maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications while improving practical effectiveness.
• Drive ownership of EHS requirements across site functions and provide coaching on responsibilities.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee environmental compliance programs including air, water, and waste, with regulatory reporting.
• Track EHS metrics and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing site.
