Job summary

Spectrum Brands, Inc. is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for the Vinita Park facility in the St. Louis, MO area. You will lead EHS initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop policies and training for managers and staff.

You will collaborate with local authorities, manage audits, and support workers’ compensation processes, with opportunities for professional growth and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Engineering or equivalent field of study preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an EHS role with demonstrated knowledge of applicable environmental health and safety regulations required.
• Manufacturing facility experience is required.
• Experience with Process Safety Management/Risk Management Planning a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the facility’s environmental, health, safety, and sustainability initiatives in alignment with local, group, and corporate objectives.
• Manage safety performance and reporting through electronic EHS Safety Management Systems.
• Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations; represent or support representation of the company in all regulatory interactions.
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Design, coordinate, and deliver training programs for managers and employees on key safety and environmental topics.
• Serve as a key leader on the plant Safety Committee, facilitating safety initiatives and communications.
• Oversee site emergency action planning and coordination with local Police and Fire Departments.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP standards, including scheduling PHAs and training personnel.
• Conduct EHS audits and drive corrective actions in partnership with employees.
• Prepare, submit, and maintain all required environmental reports for agencies.
• Compile and submit safety and accident statistics to stakeholders and regulators.
• Support workers’ compensation by providing incident data and investigations.
