Job summary

Spectrum Brands is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for the Vinita Park facility in the St. Louis, MO area. The role focuses on managing EHS, security, and workers' compensation while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field and have 5+ years of manufacturing EHS experience. The position offers onsite work with relocation assistance for qualified candidates and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Engineering or equivalent field of study preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in an EHS role with demonstrated knowledge of applicable environmental health and safety regulations required.
Manufacturing facility experience is required.
Experience with Process Safety Management/Risk Management Planning a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead the facility's environmental, health, safety, and sustainability initiatives in alignment with local, group, and corporate objectives.
Manage safety performance and reporting through electronic EHS Safety Management Systems.
Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations; represent or support representation of the company in all regulatory interactions.
Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Design, coordinate, and deliver training programs for managers and employees on key safety and environmental topics.
Serve as a key leader on the plant Safety Committee, facilitating safety initiatives, campaigns, and communications.
Oversee site emergency action planning, including collaboration with local Police and Fire Departments and coordination of emergency drills.
Ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) standards, including scheduling Process Hazard Analyses, submitting Risk Management Plans, and training affected personnel.
Conduct EHS audits to evaluate compliance and identify improvement opportunities; communicate findings to site and corporate leadership and drive corrective actions in partnership with employees.
Prepare, submit, and maintain all required environmental reports for federal, state, and local agencies.
Compile, analyze, and submit safety and accident statistics to internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies as required.
Support the workers' compensation program by providing incident data, leading investigations, recommending corrective actions, and facilitating return-to-work or modified duty plans to reduce lost time.
