Job summary

Tessy Plastics Corp. is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to advance workplace safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory initiatives within our manufacturing operations.

This role conducts inspections, training, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain a safe, compliant work environment. You will drive program development and support proactive safety culture across facilities.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree required; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret safety rules, operating procedures, and technical documents.
• Basic mathematical skills including working with fractions and decimals.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety rounds, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Observe work practices to evaluate safe behaviors and identify risks.
• Investigate accidents, injuries, and near misses and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Coordinate, maintain, and document EHS training records and equipment inventories.
• Prepare and maintain required EHS written programs, documentation, and training materials.
• Review and update EHS programs and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Conduct EHS risk assessments related to new equipment, programs, and facility additions.
• Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) databases and chemical inventories.
