Job summary

Amsted Automotive Group is seeking a Finance/Accounting professional to manage cost accounting, variance analysis, and inventory control for manufacturing in Illinois. The role supports month-end closings, data reporting, and special cost accounting projects while ensuring GAAP compliance.

Required: Bachelor's in finance/accounting, 3+ years in finance, strong Excel/SAP skills, and excellent analytical abilities. CPA preferred; position located in Geneva, IL with office-based work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting.
• Minimum 3 years in finance/accounting.
• Strong proficiency in ERP systems (preferably SAP) and advanced MS Excel.
• CPA is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Cost Analysis & Variance Reporting: monitor manufacturing variances and compare actual costs to standard costs.
• Inventory Control: oversee valuation, material flow, and reconciliation for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Month-End Close: prepare journal entries, reconcile inventory accounts, and report COGS.
• Operational Support: update BOMs, routings, and set standard costs with engineering/manufacturing.
• Audit & Compliance: support cycle counts and GAAP compliance.
• Process Improvement: identify cost-saving opportunities and improve costing systems.
