Job summary

Cooper Standard Automotive, Inc. is seeking a Cost Accountant contractor at our manufacturing plant. The role focuses on analyzing and validating cost expenditures, standard vs actual costs, and driving cost reduction initiatives.

You will work with CI/process teams, maintain SAP/ERP data accuracy, and prepare internal cost audits in accordance with GAAP. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of cost accounting experience.
• Knowledge of SAP.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.

• Understanding of costing principles and systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing activities and document/validate changes in process to determine effect on cost.
• Prepare reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Provide management with reports on factors affecting product profitability.
• Work with CI/process teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Analyze and recommend cost savings initiatives.
• Monitor inventory cycle count adjustments.
• Prepare internal cost audits per GAAP.
• Maintain accuracy in SAP/ERP systems.
• Support cost savings from improvement initiatives.
• Ensure speed and accuracy of plant profitability drivers.
• Guarantee accuracy in cycle count adjustments.
• Track plant performance leading indicators.
• Ensure accuracy in program profitability (burden model).
