Job summary

DeZURIK, Inc. in Gastonia, NC seeks a Cost Accountant to support the Plant Manager and Plant Controller by executing plant-level accounting and finance activities with emphasis on standard costing, inventory cycle counts, and manufacturing financial analysis.

You will ensure accuracy of standard costs, inventory balances, and variances while partnering with operations to drive cost control, discipline, and continuous improvement. Requires 2–5 years manufacturing experience and ERP/Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2-5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute standard costing framework (BOMs/routings, labor/overhead rates, cost rolls) and maintain controls.
• Ensure consistent costing policy application across the Gastonia plant.
• Participate in annual/periodic standard cost updates; communicate impacts to stakeholders.
• Partner with operations/purchasing/engineering to identify root causes and track improvements.
• Support inventory valuation and reconciliation to the general ledger, including WIP and finished goods.
• Support cycle counts and physical inventory processes.
• Assist monthly close activities for the Gastonia plant, including cost-related journal entries and reconciliations.
• Review manufacturing spending by cost center and identify unusual trends.
