Job summary

Dekko, based in Indiana, seeks a Manufacturing Accountant to own cost accounting, manufacturing financial reporting, and inventory valuation. You will partner with Operations, Production, and Supply Chain to track production costs, explain variances, and turn data into actionable insights that drive efficiency and cost savings.

You’ll analyze costs, support budgeting, and prepare statements for manufacturing operations while upholding internal controls and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing accounting or related role.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes.
• Advanced Excel skills; ERP system experience (NetSuite, SAP, Epicor) required.
• Ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to management.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.
• High attention to detail and accuracy; able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, prepare cost reports for management, and conduct variance analysis.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting for manufacturing operations.
• Assist in developing annual budgets and forecasts, and support management with strategic planning and decision-making.
• Own inventory valuation and the accurate recording of inventory transactions.
• Perform regular inventory reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and maintain inventory control procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and maintain internal controls for manufacturing accounting, and support audits.
• Partner with Production, Supply Chain, and other departments to gather and analyze financial data and recommend improvements.
• Lead or support special projects, including cost reduction, process improvement, and financial impact analysis of new processes, products, or initiatives.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by management.
