Job summary
Daimler Truck North America in Detroit, MI is seeking a Manufacturing Controls Engineer III to lead design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing controls across machining, assembly, and test cells. This role drives complex automation projects, supports new product launches, and collaborates with global engineering teams to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
You will implement and support hardware and software for PLC, CNC, HMI, and engine controls, manage device level
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronics/mechatronics engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of controls engineering experience.
- At least 5 years of Siemens PLC programming and HMI development.
- Experience with MES and FIS systems such as SISAM/PRISMA.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex controls projects from planning through installation and commissioning.
- Support controls for machining, assembly and test cells.
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in engineering practices.
- Provide technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams.
