Job summary

CFS is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead financial operations in a manufacturing environment, focusing on cost accounting, inventory management, and project profitability. The role requires partnering with operations to drive profitability and strengthen internal controls.

The successful candidate will oversee the close process, manage manufacturing accounting activities, and provide insightful reporting to support strategic decisions and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA is a plus.
• Manufacturing accounting experience with strong inventory, WIP, cost accounting, and production variances.
• Experience with job costing, project-based financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Experience working in a publicly traded company with SOX compliance and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, financial statements, GL, reconciliations, and management reporting.
• Manage manufacturing accounting activities: inventory valuation, WIP, standard costing, labor/overhead allocation, variances.
• Analyze job costing, project margins, material usage, and manufacturing expenses to identify cost trends and profitability improvements.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial performance metrics with operational leadership.
• Maintain internal controls over inventory, purchasing, production costs, A/P, A/R and reporting.
• Support audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting while ensuring SOX compliance.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and project management to improve cost controls and working capital.
