Job summary

Symmetrio in Littleton, MA is seeking a Controller to lead financial reporting, accounting operations, and cost accounting across manufacturing.

You will partner with operations and executive leadership to improve cost visibility, margins, and inventory performance, while ensuring U.S. GAAP compliance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in accounting with 2+ in cost accounting in manufacturing; MBA preferred; onsite, salary $145k-$155k.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field; MBA preferred.
• 5+ years progressive accounting/finance experience including 2+ years cost accounting in manufacturing.
• Strong experience with manufacturing and inventory accounting, standard/product costing, and variance analysis.
• Experience with U.S. GAAP, reporting, month-end close, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience improving accounting processes, internal controls, and collaborating across functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Oversee financial reporting per U.S. GAAP and analyze performance vs budgets and forecasts.
• Manage cost accounting across manufacturing operations including standard costing and inventory valuation.
• Analyze manufacturing variances and communicate cost drivers to leadership.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Engineering to improve margins and efficiency.
• Oversee inventory accounting, cycles, and reconciliations; support physical inventories.
• Provide financial analysis for profitability, capital investments, and operational decisions.
• Establish accounting policies and internal controls; support budgeting and forecasting.
• Provide guidance on technical accounting (revenue, leases, fixed assets, foreign currency) and global finance activities.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team; pursue automation/AI opportunities to improve processes.
