Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Shift Technician for our Hemlock, MI facility. This hands-on role supports cleaning and packaging processes, bridging production, engineering, maintenance, and quality on shift.

You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC‑controlled equipment, monitor OEE, and lead continuous improvements to maximize output and safety. Expect 2-3-2 rotating shifts and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of manufacturing experience supporting and troubleshooting process equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems including PLCs and safety systems.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems and material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource to resolve manufacturing issues on shift.
• Monitor process performance and identify throughput and quality improvements.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Track and report shift performance metrics such as OEE and downtime.
• Investigate chronic issues with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction and capacity.
• Participate in safety investigations and promote 5S standards.
• Contribute to pre-run and post-run reviews with operations and engineering.
