Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Hemlock, MI, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to improve equipment reliability and uptime in a safe manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and work with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development teams to implement root cause solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a 2-year degree in a technical discipline; engineering preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in engineering/manufacturing environment performing maintenance, repair and upkeep of industrial machines/equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support day to day equipment and process issues, identify and implement solutions to enhance uptime of production and facilities equipment.
• Provide technical support for evolving from reactive to proactive maintenance, improving productivity and reducing maintenance costs.
• Assist in diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds of machines; partner with engineering on non-routine repairs and defect handling.
• Lead execution of planned maintenance (preventative, corrective, predictive, improvement) including parts, personnel, and start-up communication.
• Use root cause analysis to ensure sustainability of corrective actions and/or improvements to drive asset uptime.
• Apply continuous improvement mindset to identify and correct opportunities.
• Support plant production needs and priorities to achieve plant goals.
• Attend and participate in team meetings and programs.
