Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Torrance, CA is seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to lead lean manufacturing initiatives and drive continuous improvement across operations. You will guide cross-functional teams, run Kaizen events, and mentor operators to sustain gains.

The role requires five+ years in manufacturing with lean experience, plus three+ years in leadership, and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business. Strong ERP/MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in a manufacturing environment with lean and rapid improvement exposure.
• Minimum three years of leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define activities requiring engineered solutions to reduce waste and improve throughput.
• Lead cross-functional teams focused on shop floor improvements and CAPEX as needed.
• Standardize processes, document for repeatability, and train operators.
• Analyze P&L to identify cost reduction and margin improvement opportunities.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma, root cause analysis and statistical tools to drive improvements.
• Act as internal consultant to sustain continuous improvement across plants.
• Drive visual controls and productivity measures throughout production teams.
• Facilitate Kaizen events with employees, customers and suppliers and ensure sustainment.
• Provide formal training on lean concepts using hands-on approaches.
• Monitor KPIs and share best practices to promote continuous learning.
