Job summary

BD, a leading global medical technology company, is hiring a Manufacturing Cell Leader in Sumter, SC. You will own production within the designated cell, drive SQDC targets, and lead a team to deliver results with BD Excellence.

Responsibilities include budgeting, headcount planning, creating development plans, and ensuring compliance with quality systems and BD safety regulations. This role focuses on on-floor leadership, change initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree (Science, Industrial management, Business, Engineering or related field).
• 5 years of manufacturing experience in a highly automated environment.
• 3 years of people leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of 5S, BD quality systems and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for achievement of key strategic, Safety and operational goals.
• Developing and mentoring the manufacturing cell to drive results.
• Coordinate and drive all activities within the manufacturing cell and set priorities.
• Manage the cell budget and headcount with Finance.
• Establish and communicate challenging SQDC goals with measurable targets.
• Initiate and drive changes to meet SQDC goals.
• Resolve issues promptly; demonstrate servant leadership.
• Run the TMS cycle and set 24-hour direction for the cell.
• Conduct yearly performance reviews and develop individual plans.
• Create work processes (e.g., CIL, CL) linked to 5S.
• Facilitate BD excellence implementation within the unit.
• Collaborate with planning to set production schedules and monitor delivery.
• Work with Quality to address quality issues and ensure investigations.
• Resolve associate concerns; involve HR as needed.
• Build mastery in operation, people management, and BD Excellence.
• Spend >70% on the production floor supervising activities.
• Perform other duties to support business needs.
