Job summary

Chesterton is seeking a dedicated manufacturing supervisor to lead day-to-day operations in a high-mix environment. The role focuses on coordinating work schedules, guiding staff, and ensuring safe, efficient production within budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities include supervising the cell, implementing Lean/Six Sigma improvements, and collaborating with Engineering and Planning to optimize work instructions and training.

Qualifications

• Supervisory manufacturing experience is required or strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and 8D problem solving methodologies.
• Ability to manage cell operations and staff with a focus on safety and quality.
• Experience in budgeting and cost management within a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe working environment and housekeep in all work centers.
• Supervise the manufacturing cell and coordinate staff across shifts.
• Develop training plans and monitor training records for team members.
• Review and update Work Instructions in collaboration with Process Engineering.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve delivery and reduce costs.
