Job summary

DeWys Manufacturing in Marne, MI is seeking a Manufacturing Buyer to manage subcontracting, outside services, and purchasing activities. You will own subcontract projects from RFQ to closeout, read engineering drawings, coordinate with Engineering and Quality, and manage supplier quotes and deliveries.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in manufacturing coordination, strong ERP/MRP and Excel skills, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances, material specs, finishes, BOMs, and routings.
• 2–5 years of manufacturing, estimating, or production coordination experience.
• Purchasing training is available for candidates with strong manufacturing background.

Responsibilities

• Own subcontract projects: scope, drawings, quotations, approvals, POs, supplier progress, delivery, closeout.
• Review technical requirements: read drawings, BOMs, routings, revisions, tolerances, and specs.
• Coordinate suppliers and quotations: compare pricing, lead times, capacity, quality, tooling, freight.
• Manage outside services: plating, powder coating, e‑coat, heat treating, deburring, other processes.
• Purchase MRO and miscellaneous items: quotes, orders, delivery, discrepancies.
• Support supplier quality resolution: NCMRs, corrective actions, returns, credits.
• Investigate material holds and inventory discrepancies; authorize dispositions.
• Source new parts for Estimating: quotes, pricing, lead times, onboarding.
• Maintain accurate purchasing information in ERP; resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate risks and drive process improvements with teams.
