Job summary

Talentify in Tecumseh, MI is seeking a Buyer to support procurement for machinery production. You will manage purchase orders, coordinate deliveries, and respond to MRP requirements to keep production on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field with 2+ years of buying or planning experience.
• Working knowledge of MRP systems and bills of materials.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Process and maintain purchase orders.
• Review purchase orders for pricing, quantities, specifications, and delivery requirements.
• Respond to MRP messages and purchasing requirements.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding availability, lead times, pricing, and delivery dates.
• Coordinate incoming materials to support production schedules.
• Monitor backorders and expedite late or critical materials.
• Negotiate supplier pricing and business terms.
• Update purchase orders with supplier-confirmed information.
• Support cost-reduction, quality, and on-time delivery initiatives.
• Identify potential material shortages or production setbacks.
• Partner with internal departments to resolve supply-chain issues.
• Maintain accurate purchasing information within the ERP system.
• Assist with inventory and planning parameters, including safety stock and lead times.
