Job summary

Custom Profile, an employee-owned manufacturer of specialty thermoplastic profile extrusions and sub-assemblies, seeks an experienced Senior Buyer. You will plan and execute raw-material procurement, build cross-functional supplier partnerships, and lead cost-saving initiatives to ensure on-time delivery across our Grand Rapids, MI site and other locations.

You will manage MRO sourcing, optimize ERP data, and drive continuous improvement in inventory and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of materials management and resin procurement experience.
• Personnel management experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• APICS certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute raw-material procurement using MRP and other demand signals.
• Build partnerships with scheduling, manufacturing, sales, engineering and suppliers.
• Lead MRO sourcing, purchasing and analysis in coordination with Production and Maintenance.
• Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts and corrective action.
• Maintain ERP data including pricing, lead times and order details.
• Monitor purchase orders to support on-time delivery.
• Lead RFQs, negotiations and supplier evaluations.
• Collaborate with Quality and suppliers on nonconforming materials.
