Job summary

Dekko is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead a buying team and act as the direct buyer. You will align team activities with production needs, manage critical supplier relationships, and drive cost reductions related to premium freight and expediting.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain (APICS a plus), 5+ years in manufacturing purchasing, and 2+ years in a leadership role. Strong MRP experience (BPCS or equivalent) and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• APICS certification is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years in purchasing or supply chain in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience as a buyer and managing purchase orders.
• Minimum 2 years in coordinating or team leadership with direct reports.
• Experience with MRP systems and purchasing parameter management.
• Familiarity with quality systems and SCAR.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and align the buyers, ensuring team adherence to production requirements and purchasing priorities.
• Act as escalation point and decision-maker for unresolved invoicing, quality rejections, or supply shortages.
• Administer and optimize the department-wide MRP in BPCS: safety stock, lead times, and minimum order quantities.
• Analyze and mitigate supply risks across all categories: single-source dependencies, extended lead times, and demand variability.
• Monitor and report purchasing KPIs to leadership: supplier OTIF, PPV, premium freight, and expediting frequency; lead supplier recovery plans.
• Participate in annual physical inventory and cycle count processes.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent experience. APICS certification is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated hands‑on experience as a buyer and managing purchase orders.
• Minimum 2 years in a coordinating or team leadership role with direct reports.
• Experience with MRP systems (BPCS or equivalent ERP) and purchasing parameter management. Familiarity with quality systems and supplier corrective action processes (SCAR).
• Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
• Effective communication skills, and ability to prioritize and balance workloads.
