Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. in Linthicum, MD is seeking a Principal Budget Analyst to lead the manufacturing budgeting activities within the AMS Division, including cost estimation, utilization planning, cost allocation, and variance analysis.

You will work with AMS Manufacturing teams to develop monthly Finals, present financial data to internal customers, and drive month-end results with Directors. Proficiency in SAP/S4, Cognos, Tableau, and Power BI is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years related work experience or Master’s degree with 3 years.
• Experience in cost control, financial analysis, or accounting.
• Experience with overhead rate preparation and analysis.
• Understanding of government compliance.
• Experience with financial systems and planning software including SAP/S4 and Cognos.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate processes across the Mission Systems sector for standardization of best practices.
• Conduct financial data collection, consolidation, interpretation, and analysis to support affordability and predict future trends.
• Prepare financial plans and assess impacts from major program awards on facility utilization.
• Produce regular and special-purpose reports; present results to Directors.
• Analyze trends and variances; update forecasts and provide insights to budget owners.
