Job summary

Sheridan Ohio is hiring a Manufacturing Associate - Finishing/Bindery. We’ll train you for high-speed bindery equipment on a daytime 7a-7p shift, full-time, with overtime opportunities.

You’ll feed books into machines, pack, move materials, perform hand operations, and work in a team to hit daily production goals. We offer comprehensive benefits after 30 days and a safety-focused, hands-on learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades).
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and work orders.
• Basic math skills (add/subtract) and reading measurements.

What You’ll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine.
• Pack books into cartons.
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation.
• Perform hand operations as required.
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace.

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you.

• Have experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device.
• Basic problem-solving skills.
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools.
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements.
• Take pride in doing quality work.
• Show up reliably and work well with a team.

It’s a Plus If You Have

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience.
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment.

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift.
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor.
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
