Job summary

Sheridan is hiring a Manufacturing Associate for finishing/bindery on the nighttime shift (7pm–7am). We'll train you to operate high-speed bindery equipment and produce books and printed materials you can hold in your hands.

Work with a collaborative team to meet daily production goals, perform hand operations, inspect finished products for quality, and move materials safely around the workspace. Benefits include medical, dental, vision after 30 days, paid time off, holidays, overtime

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, and procedures.
• Basic math skills for measuring.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfortable using basic tools.
• Reliable team player with quality focus.
• Read job instructions and measurements.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We're Looking For

• Have experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It's a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
