Job summary

Sheridan is seeking a Manufacturing Associate for finishing/bindery on the overnight shift (7pm–7am). We train you to run high-speed bindery equipment, join a fast-paced, team-oriented production floor, and help produce books, catalogs, and printed materials.

You will feed the machine, pack, inspect quality, and follow safety procedures. No prior bindery experience required; a high school diploma or GED and reliability are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED required; or 1–3 months related experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and manuals.
• Basic math and use of measuring devices.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort with basic tools.
• Team-oriented with reliability and quality focus.

Responsibilities

• Feed books/signatures into machine.
• Pack books into cartons.
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation.
• Perform hand operations as required.
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products for quality.
• Follow safety procedures and keep workspace clean.

What You'll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We're Looking For

• Have experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It's a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
