Job summary

Sheridan is hiring for a Manufacturing Associate - Finishing/Bindery on a nighttime shift. You'll learn to operate high-speed bindery equipment, feed and pack materials, and support a fast-paced production line in a hands-on role.

We welcome individuals ready to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in print manufacturing, with team-based goals and safety-focused practices. Training is provided to develop skilled equipment handling and quality control.

Qualifications

• Experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.).
• High school Diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and documents.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, and maintenance instructions.
• Basic math skills including addition and subtraction; ability to use measuring devices.
• Basic problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.
• Mechanical inclination and comfort using basic hand tools.
• Ability to read basic job instructions and measurements with accuracy.
• Pride in delivering quality work and reliability in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Feed books/signatures into the machine.
• Pack books into cartons.
• Move materials and books safely to and from the workstation.
• Perform hand operations as required.
• Work with a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products for quality standards.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace.

What You'll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We're Looking For

• Have experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It's a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
