Job summary

Sheridan is hiring a Manufacturing Associate for finishing/bindery on the night shift in Ohio. We’ll train you to operate high-speed bindery equipment, and you’ll work from 7pm to 7am as a full-time team member.

You’ll feed books into machines, pack items, move materials safely, perform hand operations, and collaborate to meet daily production goals while inspecting output for quality and following safety rules.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and following work orders and safety rules.
• Ability to read measurements and use a measuring device.
• Basic math skills for packing and quality checks.
• Willingness to learn and operate finishing/bindery equipment.

Responsibilities

• Feed books/signatures into the machine.
• Pack books into cartons.
• Safely move materials to and from workstation.
• Perform hand operations as required.
• Work with a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products for quality.

What You'll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We're Looking For

• Have experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It's a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
