Job summary

Divergent in Long Beach, CA seeks a mid-level Operations Analyst focused on manufacturing analytics to translate production data into actionable insight. You will apply statistical and ML methods to predict time and cost, and unify data sources into a shared data model for pricing, simulation, and factory scaling.

Work with the central Data team to operationalize data, define mappings and quality rules, and drive data-driven improvements with shop-floor partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Statistics, CS, Operations Research, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Hands-on experience with production data and shop floor execution in a manufacturing environment
• Python, pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, statsmodels, matplotlib/Plotly
• SQL with complex joins, window functions, CTEs; data modeling and time-series data validation
• Experience implementing data-driven improvements on the shop floor

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate statistical and ML models correlating process time, staffing, and engineering data
• Unify equipment, MES, ERP/BOM, staffing, and engineering data into a cohesive data model
• Define source mappings, metric definitions, and data quality rules
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement data-driven process improvements
• Lead cross-functional projects from discovery to ROI justification
