Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Accounting Manager for a manufacturing-focused role in New Haven, CT. The position is on-site and permanent, offering responsibility for close processes, GAAP reporting, and internal controls across a growing portfolio.

You will lead a hands-on team, partner with operations and finance, and drive process improvements to support growth and scalability, including private equity reporting and KPI development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing or inventory-heavy environment.
• CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accurate GAAP-compliant statements.
• Oversee general ledger activity, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet analysis.
• Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, COGS, variances, and inventory valuation.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, strengthen internal controls, and streamline processes.
• Provide financial analysis, investigate variances, and deliver insights to leadership.
• Coordinate external audits, support tax/compliance, ensure regulatory adherence.
• Lead accounting staff, promote accountability and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, production, and finance for visibility.
• Support private equity reporting, KPIs, budgeting, forecasting for execs.
