Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Accounting Manager in Montgomery, OH to oversee the company’s general accounting operations in a manufacturing environment. This hands-on role requires leading a team, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting reporting and controls.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in accounting, strong Excel and ERP experience, and the ability to drive process improvements across AP, AR, GL, and payroll. On-site, permanent role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of general accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience overseeing AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Manufacturing accounting and inventory experience preferred.
• Prior staff leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP/integrated financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the company's accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and payroll activities.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial system integration transactions are processed accurately and timely.
• Develop, implement, and administer appropriate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Maintain accounting controls related to inventory, purchasing, and other operational activities.
• Manage the company's day-to-day cash flow and monitor working capital needs.
• Oversee outstanding customer accounts and drive timely collections.
• Prepare and compile data for regularly scheduled and special accounting reports, analyses, and financial statements.
• Coordinate year-end financial audits and 401(k) audits, including preparation of supporting documentation.
• Coordinate periodic customer and financial audits.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax, financial, and government reporting requirements.
• Maintain accurate financial and operating information to support business decision-making.
• Provide accounting guidance and support to other areas of the organization as needed.
• Train, coach, and develop accounting staff while managing work assignments and priorities.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, reporting, and efficiency.
• Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
