James Hardie is seeking an accounting professional to support its finance operations in Dahlonega, GA. You will maintain accurate financial records, assist with close processes, and ensure GAAP compliance while partnering with operations and supply chain teams.

The role emphasizes journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting, with close collaboration across departments and a strong emphasis on accuracy and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–5 years accounting experience in manufacturing/corporate environment.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Experience with general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations, and audits.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and manufacturing transactions.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Perform account reconciliations (inventory, COGS, manufacturing overhead) and resolve discrepancies.
• Support inventory accounting (raw materials, WIP, finished goods).
• Coordinate with AP/AR and assist with general ledger maintenance.
• Assist with audits by preparing documentation and responding to requests.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls, SOX if applicable.
• Identify process improvements in accounting workflows and reporting.
