Manual Machinist

We have a fantastic full-time career opportunity for a qualified Manual Machinist to work in Aston, PA. An excellent compensation and benefits package is available for a qualified candidate.

Job Summary:

The Manual Machinist is responsible for operating large industrial machines to produce pump parts to precise specifications. This role requires knowledge of metal properties, setups, layouts, and precision machining procedures. The successful candidate will be familiar with equipment such as manual lathe machines.

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications:

1. Perform layouts, set up, and operate conventional machine tools such as ID/OD grinders, turret lathes, engine lathes, horizontal and vertical boring mills, radial drills, and planer mills.
2. Read and interpret drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
3. Maintain close tolerances (+/- 0.001”).
4. Inspect parts using micrometers to check diameters, lengths, depths, grooves, slots, and drill dimensions.
5. Experience in machining pump components such as cases, impellers, wear-rings, bearing housings, and shafts.
6. Follow instructions from travelers/router and machining procedures.
7. Pay attention to detail with a results-driven approach.
8. Excellent communication skills.
9. Willing to work overtime as required.
10. Journeyman machinist or 5-10 years of experience, or comparable experience within the aftermarket pump or rotating equipment industry preferred.
11. High school diploma or equivalent.
12. Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
