Compensation: $20+/hr. DOE
Hours: Monday – Friday, Day, 8 hour Shifts

Job Description:
We are seeking a talented Manual Machinist to operate various machines, including lathes, mills, and surfacers, to complete designated tasks. You will be responsible for producing and repairing precision parts using manual techniques and precise measurements. The ideal candidate must have strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of mathematics and mechanics. A commitment to safety procedures is essential. Your objective will be to ensure smooth production operations and improve processes for greater efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Examine samples, drawings, or instructions to understand output specifications
  • Plan the sequence of tasks required to complete a job
  • Measure and mark materials for cutting or shaping
  • Choose the appropriate machines (e.g., lathes) and position or load materials for the task
  • Set machine parameters such as batch size and speed
  • Monitor machine operation, adjusting feed, maintaining temperature, and identifying issues
  • Inspect output for consistency with specifications and discard defective items
  • Maintain records of approved and rejected units or final products
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and address minor repairs as needed


Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience as a machinist
  • Proficient in operating and/or programming manual machines (such as lathes, grinders, etc.)
  • Skilled in using precision tools (e.g., calipers) for accurate measurements
  • Strong understanding of metal and material properties
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Physical endurance and strength to lift heavy objects
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship completion is a plus

  • Must be experienced enough to pass a machining test in person
  • Preferred over 2 years of manual machining experience
